Faculty of Engineering, University of Fukui (UF) has recently concluded an academic exchange agreement with Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Faculty of Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering, Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC). Mutual academic exchange, including student exchange, will be further enhanced between the two institutions.
As of September 10, 2024, UF has 173 partner institutions in 41 countries and regions.
In addition, four university students and a faculty member from ITC were invited to Japan from September 8, 2024 to September 14, 2024 under the “International Youth Science Exchange Program (Sakura Science Exchange Program)” implemented by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) to participate in a technical experience exchange program on the application of high-speed image sensing technology to smart agriculture.
In the program, participants experienced the use of high-speed image sensing devices developed in the laboratory and applied to actual structures and living organisms. Through visits to the Hokuriku Digital Manufacturing Center in Fukui Prefecture and local companies, participants conducted experiments with the latest measurement equipment and learned about technologies in practical use.
By working together with UF students, the ITC students were able to deepen their interaction with each other, and program participants commented “we would like to continue our exchanges in the future.”
It is expected that the program will help to develop young human resources who will be responsible for the future development of joint research with Japan.
